Product & Description
This is the £9.99 Peco 'Crump' N gauge 7 plank wagon, produced exclusively for us here at Derails Models. This item is a limited edition of 100 pieces, and is the third issue in our range of exclusive local wagons.
This wagon is painted in the livery of the Crump Meadow Colliery near Cinderford. Started in 1829, the Colliery had quite a large output of 12,000 tons per year, and to this effect had an extensive fleet of wagons (totalling over 450!). Crump Meadow closed in 1929. This wagon was manufactured by Peco in the United Kingdom.
The research and development of this wagon was aided considerably by the book "Private Owner Wagons of the Forest of Dean", written by Ian Pope and published by Lightmoor press. The book, although out of publication, can still be obtained using the ISBN number 1 899889 09 4 from a variety of sources, including the Dean Forest Railway.
